Give Teachers Money not Guns, 2022
2024 was a busy year and reignited my love of poster making. Starting with an internship at Hatch Show Print in Nashville, a return trip to Australia and an internship with the legendary Amos P. Kennedy at Pile of Bricks in Detroit.
My paper cut stencil technique was fine tuned and I had found the perfect paper to print on for street posters - Astrobright paper is used by Hatch. It’s cheap, colorful and perfect for street posters.
My first Astrobright posters were printed in the backyard of 1206 while on my internship at Hatch. They were in response to meeting one of the mothers of a child who was injured in The Covenant School mass shooting. The state (TN) had proposed arming teachers in response. his poster series sparked 26 new street poster designs, approx. 2500 posters, printed over 7 months. I was buying Astrobright packs of 500 and purchased 5 packs in 2022.
