FINALIST FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AWARDS 2015 by Wendy Murray

Since signing the agreement with the Australian Human Rights Commission to support the Racism It Stops with Me campaign, Hobsons Bay City Council implemented a range of organisational and community actions demonstrating Council’s leadership in combating racism and promoting the value of cultural diversity.

One of the biggest highlights over the last 12 months has been the Behind This Smile community art project which gave 12 local residents from diverse backgrounds from Hobsons Bay an opportunity to share their stories with the community.

“We are proud to be recognised as a finalist and would like to thank the local artist Wendy Murray and all the 12 individuals residents involved for their personal contributions.” - Mayor of Hobsons Bay Cr Peter Hemphill
